What is everyone sticking in their easter baskets? Assuming of course, that you make your own and don't give up and buy the pre-made ones. (Um, and who hasn't at least once?) :giggle

I'm making easter baskets for my children and my nephews.

Kiki - 2 t-shirts that she likes, lipgloss, chocolate bunny, candy - something else is needed but I haven't figured out what yet.

Blake - Some weird plastic toy building thing that he likes, Spongebob temporary tatoos in a plastic egg. A matchbox car in an egg, chocolate bunny, candy. I think that is enough but I'm thinking...

Vi - A really nice dolly with a bean bag body that has clothes she can take off, tinkerbell bath paints, chocolate bunny (that I will confiscate) and candy.

David - Spiderman bath paints, chocolate bunny, candy, matchbox car in an egg.

Will - Spiderman bath paints, chocolate bunny, candy, matchbox car in an egg.

I think some of my baskets are skimpy, what do you all think? Oh and I'd love to hear what everyone else is doing! :awe :bunny

I don't do that. I just fold them in half and stick them behind a picture frame. :couch

My kids just get a small basket with a few chocolates. My In Laws and parents are usually the ones that go all out for easter, not me.

We don't give baskets out anymore but when we did we themed it ---
one year it was sports -- they got stuff candies in the shape of sports, golf balls (Lauren played), sports books, sports video games, sports movies. Another year was a color.

I also make a treasure hunt for their easter baskets. We bought the plastic eggs and put clues in them with a few M&M's -- they got progressively harder. When they were younger it was "where clean socks go -- their dresser drawer etc. So the final clue lead them to their basket. They loved it!

Mines are teens so what goes into an Easter basket is a bit different

Both will get the standard chocolate bunny, a few jelly beans and some Robin's egg malted milk "ball egg things" neither can stand peeps so those nasty things are out
Both will receive an I tunes card
DS: Best Buy gift card
DD :
Earrings and a Claire's boutique gift card

Bronte, when you say you make their baskets, are you saying you weave your own? :thud

We don't do candy, as it is mostly chocolate (K has dairy allergy) and Eli is diabetic. They are each getting a webkinz and they will get eggs full of quarters, dimes and nickels (which they love) and Jenn had a GREAT idea to get them gift cards to Game Stop.

some of y'all put a lot of stuff in their baskets (coughcoughteazcoughcough)! it's Easter not Christmas :lol I am all for giving the boys a couple little somethings they will really enjoy and then letting them hunt for eggs and crap. They LOVE getting change, especially quarters :lmao Right now it's so easy to please them, I'm afraid of when they are older :bolt

Of course. I weave them with wheatgrass that I grow in my garden. Doesn't everyone do that? First you have to soak them in breastmilk for a day or so and then weave them. :dunno

A life skill I think.

(I wonder if Stacey is actually believing all that?) :paranoia :lmao

Um Stacey, I mean that I have the baskets, buy them or whatever and just put the stuff in myself instead of buying the prepackaged ones with candy and toys all in it already. :snicker

Stacey isn't interested in learning to weave Easter baskets from wheat grass I guess? :snicker

Well hell, everyone's weaving crosses out of palm fronds around here...

You PUT IT TOGETHER..... ;) not make it! LOL I was 99% sure you didn't weave your own, but I was confused.

Who actually buys the pre-wrapped baskets with all that crap in it? They always look so lame (IMO)

My boys are each getting a new Webkins, a few new pencils, an egg shaped eraser, a blue sticky note pad with bunnies on it, some bath pellets (the kind that change the color of the water), a few jelly beans and a small chocolate bunny. I also hide eggs with jelly beans or coins inside.

I think the premade baskets look cheesy.

I agree the premade baskets are cheesy but I did buy them one year. It was a crazy busy tax season. :couch

Easter was ALWAYS my fovorite holliday growing up...and I still love it.

That being said, I have NEVER bought a pre-filled basket. :D

This year this is how it broke down:

Troy- 3 "Cars" cars, temp tatoo sheets, a chocolate bunny, magnetic letters for fridge, smarties, and some choclates. I need to get him a stuffed bunny.

Michaela- Goal is to find her a new kitten before Sunday...and surprise her with it in her basket. If we don;t get her a kittne, I will get her a webkinz. Already she has: woopiecushion, chocolate bunny, various candy, nail stuff, hair stuff, and a temporary "tramp stamp" tat. :giggle

Wyatt and Tucker get money and a chocolate bunny...no baskets this year. They tell me they are too old. :hmph I fully expected DD to follow along, and she was like "Uh-uh, I am not too old and I like my baskets THANK YOU!". She is a lot like me. :giggle

That is awesome, Jen! My mom stopped with the basket for me when I had kids, but she still gets us some kind of little gift.
